Does maes also die in the manga or was it just in the anime?

"I was disappointed to see that it was very canon...if that tells you anything." Think about it; I already told you. =P But if you have AIM, I could send you the zips I have of the manga. They're all fan-trans'd, unfortunately, but the pictures are still good. ^^
